In my opinion, these are not as nice because you may not be able to stay at the house you really want because it's booked up. Plus the club company furnishes and maintains the home which can be nice, but you don't get to help with decorating.

I really prefer the fractional ownership for a couple reasons. To begin, you are in this agreement with a lot of families you don't know and that actually plays out in your favor. That allows you to not get really emotional about things. And since there is no baggage, you can usually work easier with the other families to improve the home and really make it a great asset for everybody involved.

Don't be surprised when many of the bills that go along with the home get shared like insurance and other things too. This is where there could be an issue. If you own it in a cooperation, you could be on the hook for damages caused by another family during their stay.
